Film Review: The Tree of Life

Tree of life is exhilarating, vapid, confusing and enlightening all at the same time. Terrence Malick’s exploration of the meaning of life is a stark and bewildering ascent into popular cinema as many people will not have experienced before.]

A middle-aged architect, Jack O-Brien played by Sean Sean Penn, recollects his life in 1950s Texas with father, Brad Pitt, and mother Jessica Chastain. The conversation is sparse and the story relies heavily on near-silent imagery of the family to tell the story. Malick takes the reader on a mind-twisting narrative of the family’s life interspersed with vivid images of nature and the inception of life on earth.
